Brainspotting: Healing Beyond Talk Therapy

Brainspotting is a powerful brain-body therapy designed to help process trauma, emotional pain, stress, and experiences stored deeply within the nervous system. Developed by David Grand, Brainspotting is based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel. By identifying specific eye positions, called “brainspots,” we can access deeper parts of the brain connected to unresolved experiences and emotional patterns.

When stress or trauma overwhelms the nervous system, the brain can become stuck in survival responses such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. This may contribute to:

  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Chronic stress or burnout
  • Feeling easily triggered
  • Difficulty feeling calm, safe, or present
  • Physical tension or chronic pain

Brainspotting helps the brain and body process these experiences so the nervous system can move toward regulation, resilience, and healing.

A Client-Led Approach to Healing

Brainspotting is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather than forcing a specific direction, we follow your brain and nervous system as they naturally guide the healing process. Sessions are often deeply individualized, intuitive, and supportive — creating space for meaningful emotional and physical healing.

Specialized Brainspotting Approaches

Expansion Brainspotting: Focuses on strengthening positive neural pathways connected to confidence, creativity, authenticity, performance, and self-worth. This approach can help improve motivation, reduce performance anxiety, and support personal growth.

Bodyspotting: Helps clients tune into physical sensations where stress and trauma may be stored in the body. This approach may support relief from chronic tension, headaches, fatigue, and other stress-related symptoms.

Parts Work & Inner Child Healing: Supports healing younger emotional parts of ourselves that may still carry fear, shame, abandonment, or emotional pain. This work can help build self-compassion, emotional safety, and self-trust.
