Andrea Carter
Founder – Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Andrea Yoshiko Carter PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Alabama and went on to earn a Master’s degree from Walden University. With a strong foundation in her field, she has continued to build on her academic achievements and professional expertise. Before finding a passion for mental health, Andrea spent 13 years treating patients with cardiovascular disease, arrythmia, heart failure, heart transplant and other chronic medical conditions.
Andrea has expertise in working with adolescents and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. She is a certified Brainspotting Clinician and trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She employs evidence-based practices with a holistic approach to enhance her patients’ quality of life. Clients often feel “unstuck” after working with Andrea and describe her as “genuine” and “compassionate”. Aside from her professional life, Andrea is a busy mom who loves animals, enjoys laughter, quality family time, traveling, music, and crafting.
Dr. Kimberly Arthur-Mensah
Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Kimberly Arthur-Mensah is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience supporting both children and adults facing a wide range of mental and physical health challenges. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mt. Carmel College of Nursing, and completed both her Master’s and Doctorate in Nursing at Ohio State University. Drawing from her strong academic background and clinical expertise, Dr. Arthur-Mensah is dedicated to advancing nursing practice through research, leadership, and education.
She conducts thorough evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans for conditions including anxiety, depression, addiction, and personality disorders. With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Arthur-Mensah works closely with individuals to understand their unique needs and goals. Combining psychotherapy with medication management, she strives to identify the most effective path toward optimal mental health.
Dr. Arthur-Mensah is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and brainspotting. She is especially passionate about working with children and teens, finding great fulfillment in supporting young people and their families. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring new experiences, and is a devoted animal lover.
She believes that balancing professional dedication with personal passions helps her bring empathy and warmth to every patient interaction.
Passionate about empowering her patients, Dr. Arthur-Mensah provides ongoing education and support with the goal of achieving lasting improvements in mental well-being. Her compassionate, individualized approach ensures each person feels understood, respected, and cared for.
Dr. Jahi Anderson MD
Collaborating Physician
Dr. Jahi Anderson is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with extensive expertise in treating adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Morehouse College in 2000 and a Medical Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, in 2005. Dr. Anderson completed his psychiatric residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Cooper University Hospital in 2010, serving as Chief Resident.
With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Anderson has treated a wide range of conditions, including mood, anxiety, psychotic, trauma-related, and substance use disorders. As the former Medical Director of the Adolescent Unit at a dedicated psychiatric hospital, he also treated adult patients in emergency and inpatient settings. He was twice awarded Inpatient Physician of the Year by hospital staff and peers, recognizing his commitment to exceptional patient care and effective communication with patients, staff, and administration.
Dr. Anderson takes a holistic approach to psychiatry, emphasizing the treatment of the whole person and utilizing his comprehensive skillset to help patients achieve mental wellness and sustained optimal functioning.
Dr. Brian Still, MD
Collaborating Psychiatrist
Dr. Brian Still is a highly experienced and respected psychiatrist who brings depth, integrity, and clinical excellence to Hamada Healing Center. With extensive expertise in treating mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and addiction, Dr. Still provides thoughtful psychiatric collaboration to support safe, effective, and evidence-based care for children, teens, and adults.
Dr. Still earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of clinical leadership roles, including staff psychiatrist and medical director positions. His experience spans inpatient psychiatry, geriatric care, addiction treatment, acute stabilization, child and adolescent populations, and telepsychiatry services for rural mental health clinics. He has also performed ECT treatments and contributed to performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance committees.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Still serves as a consulting psychiatrist and Medical Director, providing guidance on case management, medical necessity criteria, quality improvement, and managed care initiatives. His collaborative experience with multidisciplinary teams enhances the comprehensive, patient-centered model of care we value at Hamada Healing Center.
Dr. Still is committed to continuous learning and staying current with advancements in psychiatric treatment. He believes in compassionate, personalized care that supports long-term stability, healing, and recovery.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Still enjoys kayaking and spending time on the water and at the beach with his family.
